Terms of Use

These terms apply when you use Campbell Residents Directory. Use of the reference means you accept the terms below; do not use it if you do not agree.

1. What Campbell Directory Is

Campbell Residents Directory is a privately operated reference to public rolls, record indexes, and historical collections related to Campbell, California. It hosts no government records and is not affiliated with Campbell, Santa Clara County, California, a court, library, or records custodian.

2. Permitted and Prohibited Use

Use the reference only in a lawful, responsible way. You may not use it, or information reached through it, to:

  • Stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or harm any person
  • Locate someone protected by a restraining or protective order
  • Commit identity theft or fraud
  • Make FCRA-regulated decisions (credit, employment, tenant, insurance)
  • Scrape, copy, or republish the content at scale
  • Disrupt the operation or security of the reference

3. No Consumer Reports

Campbell Residents Directory is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. § 1681 et seq. Neither its text nor a result from a linked search tool is a consumer report. Nothing returned may be used to decide eligibility for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or another purpose covered by the FCRA.

4. Outside Links

County and state portals, libraries, archives, and sponsored search tools set their own terms and privacy policies. Campbell Residents Directory does not control their content, availability, fees, or data practices.

5. No Warranty

The reference is supplied “as is” and “as available,” without warranties. No promise is made that a fact is accurate, complete, or current, or that an outside portal will operate or return a correct result.

6. Liability Limits

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages connected with use of this reference or a linked resource, including action taken from a record found through it.

7. Indemnity

You agree to defend and hold the operators harmless from a claim or demand, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, that results from misuse of the reference or breach of these terms.

8. Content Ownership

The original writing, design, logo, and layout are protected by copyright. Links and short attributed quotations are welcome. Full-page republication and systematic copying are not.

9. Term Updates

A revised version may be posted here at any time. Continuing to use the reference after a change signals acceptance of the revised terms.

10. Access Restrictions

Access may be blocked or limited for a user who violates these terms or abuses the reference. This may happen without advance notice.

11. California Law

California law governs these terms without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Public-record references use the California Public Records Act, Government Code §§7920.000 et seq., but the Act governs the custodian agencies, not this private reference.

12. Severability

If a provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect.
